Jan 19th - Sea Day

Today was mainly an admin day. We purchased a 24hr internet package again and posted blogs, caught up on emails, paid bills etc…

Our ship activities were quizzes. We did many and scored well but no win - close but no cigar as they say. Our quiz team mates won their 1st quiz last night and were buoyant but that still didn’t help us.

We saw some amazing birds flying in a pack and diving for fish. No idea what they are but if it was a quiz question we would have gone geese - that is why we have been losing! if you know then let us know. Apparently there were multiple sightings of dolphins today and crocodiles during the jungle section of the Panama Canal - we saw none of these🙁.

Today was a theme night (Black & White) so evening attire was required with an enhanced menu in the restaurant. We had both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, on a table for two, so today’s spotlight area will be the restaurant. It is at the aft (rear) of the ship on decks 2 & 3 with deck 3 for fixed dining (6:30 & 8:30) and deck 2 freedom dining meaning anytime between 6pm & 9:30. With freedom dining you may be given a pager to wait for a table but this generally only happens for tables for 2. We were allocated freedom dining which was fine for us.

Here are some pics of the entrance and layout of deck 2 area.

Entrance foyer to the restaurant
Unmanned concierge desk (we snuck in for pics) and some tables

The show tonight was “Astonishing” with Stephen Mulhern - he isn’t onboard! It is a filmed interactive portion of him doing magic. We have seen it before so passed and instead finished our night with more failed quizzes and reading. The clocks went back again tonight so we are now 6 hrs behind the UK.
