Jan 15th - 2nd Caribbean Sea Day

Started off with a nice view of Cuba from our cabin - which Mark has tried to capture with the cover image of this post. Need a photo class on this ship - they have every other activity including beginner's ballet today. Who on earth on here will be taking that class even if it is free! Apparently 18 people did.

We are not stopping in Cuba but then we were meant to stop in the Bahamas but didn't! Seeing tempting islands as we float by is frustrating. Tomorrow is Jamaica so we had better stop there or I predict a riot.

Let's start today with part two of buffet food. Breakfast. I will say the food in the main dining room is much better quality and we will take pictures when we have a table for two - not the done thing to take food pics on shared tables it seems 😆. The choice in the buffet is very good and is more than adequate though I know people that avoid it and just have full table service in the main dining room for all their main meals.

As well as teas and juices there are smoothies etc…

As well as cold meats and cheeses there are pastries

Lots of fresh fruit and cereals

More fruit and cereals - bananas, apples, oranges floating around somewhere too

No coco-pops!

Porridge

Made to order omelettes or poached eggs or eggs Benedict

Pancakes and croissants

Full english

And that’s all folks

After breakfast we went our separate ways. Mark read and wrote up blog posts. Pam nattered with the craft class people.

We met up again for Busker Mike songs round the pool in 29c heat - we stayed in the shade. Then we knocked the ball out the park with almost full marks in the jukebox music quiz. Another win under our belts and we got more prize stamps to cash in at the end of our cruise.

Mark played cricket again and made it 3 wins out of 3 but played rubbish and injured his shoulder so will retire from that for a while.

We also found out that Fort Lauderdale counted as a segment and P&O left us a note saying that we had now moved up a loyalty tier giving us 7.5% off of all our future purchases instead of 5% plus a free drink each.

Meanwhile it was not Afternoon Tea time so here is what is offered in the buffet for that - teas and coffees were shown previously.

Late evening we decided to call our girls back home. It was a 5hr difference so 10pm for them. It was so good to catch up - isn't technology wonderful. Then an absolute bonus. Whilst on the call, a school of small dolphins appeared leaping out of the water. Spectacular and very special but we didn't manage to capture any pictures as we were on a call but our kids can verify our whoops of joy!

It was a black tie night again tonight but not a special menu which was a little odd. We took some sunset pictures before tucking into crab soufflé followed by Duck confit. Mark then had a very chocolatey dessert and Pam the Rhubarb and Ginger crumble with custard.

The evening ended with a cryptic quiz on capital cities - we came 3rd with 18/20 and then we attended the in-house Headliners Theatre Company show of Killer Queen. The songs were all from the Queen catalog and were performed amazingly well with fantastic costumes, great dance routines, moving sets and light shows. The only thing that let it down was there was no storyline but that is a common issue with P&O shows.

As this is buffet food day part 2 we shall end on the midnight buffet.

Always cold sandwiches, snacks and cheeseboard available
Tonight’s food include sausage rolls and samosas - no pizzas or kebabs tonight

Mr Hot Chocolate man (or Mr Horlicks if you prefer) with tempting cookies
