Jan 10th - You guessed it. Sea Day.

Pam has been struck down by Fitstepitis again so won’t be doing that again today.

After breakfast we split again. Pam once again off crafting - today’s session is to finish off any incomplete projects. Mark wandered the ship and did more promenade walking but nasty showers made lots of people run for cover so change of plan and off to the gym for a 30min cycle.   The gym also has scales which says that Mark has put on 5lbs in 7 days. Let’s hope they are broken. Cruise scales are notoriously inaccurate in the same way cruise food is notoriously moorish.

Anyway as Pamela is crafting let’s focus on that part of the ship today. Now craft sessions should be held in this wonderful bar called the East bar. It is on Deck 11 mid-ship above the Retreat. It has lovely seats and beautiful views on sunny days. It is always quiet as not many people venture up here.

However, the tables are not ideal for craft sessions so they have moved that activity across the landing area into the Sindhu Restaurant. This is a speciality restaurant in the evening where you can have a nice Indian meal at an extra cost. We will probably not review this as Indian cuisine is not a favourite of ours but these pictures may give you an idea of the area.

So after the scare of the scales we have skipped lunch and walked 3 laps of the promenade (remember that = 1 mile = 1 afternoon tea).  Then I introduced Pam to the Aquarius Bar Jukebox quiz. No singalong points today though plenty of singing along which meant everyone more or less got maximum points. The sun has come out and the sea is beautifully Caribbean blue (we must be close). It may be time to even break into the sun cream (now reached 21c). We also caught the end of poolside sounds by Busker “Mike” who made everything very relaxing as he strolled the deck singing gentle tunes. I left Pamela to finish off the music quiz to go 2 decks up and joined a 7 aside cricket match - those scales better adjust tomorrow. We comfortably won the cricket but it was damn hard as the sports deck is above the buffet restaurant and air vents are pumping out delicious smells. I dropped 2 catches and I blame that on wafting apple pie scents.

We rejoined for afternoon tea and then tried the launderettes. Usually if you want to hear any gossip then the laundrette is the place for it. However, Pam scoffs at this and says she learns much more in Craft Class such as the Cuban Magician/Comedien Manual Martinez is from Kent. Obviously what is said in Craft Class doesn’t stay in Craft Class!

The rest of day consisted of a buffet restaurant dinner followed by a favourite of ours - the silent disco. Surely, all this exercise must pay off. We ended the night on a theatre trip to the Headliners show “Blame it on the Boogie” which was a tribute to 70s music (mainly British variety) and was very popular and well received.

Mark came upstairs to post this blog and have a cheeky midnight hot chocolate and chicken shawarma - maybe I will just avoid the scales tomorrow.
