Mark awoke earlier than Pam so crept off to the buffet for Eggs Benedict. He then strolled the decks for some fresh air and the sky was blue and temperatures already in the low 20s centigrade. When he returned Pam was waking up so we split again with Pamela going for breakfast and Mark to play shuffleboard. This shuffleboard should be an easy game but it is turning into golf and something that should be easy but being very hard with very small margins causing massive damage. Another early loss again.
We then did our final laundry wash to pack and then went up to the Neptune pool and joined Lesley and Chris for the hot dog extravaganza buffet - basically a load of different dogs with sides. Mark had a wild boar and apple sausage in a roll and a few cocktail sausages with some potato wedges and salad plus some tortillas with spicy guacamole. Pamela had a frankfurter hot dog with salad and sweet potato fries plus a raspberry mousse tart.
Mark left and joined his other friend Paul for the music quiz before he tried shuffleboard again (shuffleboard was a disaster so won’t be mentioned again). We did well in the quiz with 56/60 but someone got all 60. As the Four Tops would say, it’s the same old songs but in a different quiz list that their played on….
Pam met me back at the cabin and we continued backing for Sydney. She had been basically nattering the Neptune pool bar all this time and we later discovered that she has a red face except the white areas which were covered by her glasses. At least she is not sore. Yet. There may be more on this tomorrow.
We played an afternoon game of bingo and Mark won but not enough to recoup both our entrant fees and not the £360 main prize.
Mark went off to reception to double check the plans tomorrow. We are to be inspected as a couple with the 2 suitcases tomorrow at 6.30am by immigration who will be coming onboard to interview us and check everything personally. They will say if we can take the cases off or not and they will explain what we have to do next. Then we headed to the ocean room to claim our prizes for the 9 stamps we won (winning quizzes, shuffleboard and a scavenger hunt). We collected a car charger, a handbag holder and a beautiful silver photo frame (4” x 6”inches) much more than we expected to get - thought it might be some pens or pencils.
As this is our last night sailing into Sydney there is a summer vibes pool party in the Aquarius pool with music by Pulse. We grabbed buffet food and essentially had a dinner with music show. We also got this picture of entertainment host Stevie (her and Corinne are Pam’s favourites whilst Mark’s is Karl). Stevie is basically bonkers as this pic probably shows.
The rest of the evening was spent with doing our regular Spinnaker bar quiz and then off to the theatre show “Killer Queen” by the Headliners. We saw this show about 5 weeks ago but it was good so we decided to go again. It was very good and our last Headliners show onboard with this fabulous group.
We ended the night back in the Aquarius bar with Pulse.
Again we will end this post with the the ship tour. All with have left is deck 10 which is a mixture of open decks and a couple of rooms. We have covered the mid ships Retreat room earlier so we will cover these open decks.
And also this room which is used for ceremonies such as Weddings, Vow renewals and I believe even the service the scattering of ashes before the scattering takes place.
Next up to tomorrow is Sydney, Australia. We are so close now and very excited indeed!!!
